Job Description
As our Policy Fellow, you’ll be a vital part of our Research Team, helping shape SaverLife’s policy agenda. You’ll track legislation, produce policy insights, and support advocacy efforts that elevate the voices and experiences of our members. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, policy-savvy individual who wants to work at the intersection of economic justice, research, and advocacy.
What You’ll Do:
- Monitor and Analyze Policy (Federal, State & Local) - Track federal policies related to tax, climate resilience, safety nets, and retirement security. Conduct scans of state and local programs in focus areas like Georgia, Alabama, the DMV region, Newark, and Arkansas.
- Shape SaverLife’s Policy Voice - Develop public policy positions and create compelling advocacy content such as policy briefs, white papers, and op-eds based on our research and member insights.
- Influence Through Relationships - Help identify and connect with key bipartisan and moderate policy actors. Represent SaverLife in policy meetings, partnerships, and events.
- Support Advocacy & Testimony - Help identify opportunities for SaverLife to provide expert input in legislative hearings and prepare staff for testimony.
- Engage Our Members - Collaborate with SaverLife’s Member Advocacy Panel to ensure their lived experiences are reflected in our policy work.
What You Bring:
- Solid understanding of federal legislative processes and political dynamics
- Strong analytical and legal research skills—able to interpret and draft policy and legislation
- Excellent written and verbal communication—able to simplify complex policy for diverse audiences
- Passion for economic equity and commitment to amplifying the voices of under-served communities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote-first environment with a collaborative spirit
- Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, and Salesforce
Your Background:
- Graduate-level coursework in public policy, economics, law, or a related field or a combination of education and relevant professional experience
- At least 1 year of relevant professional experience (e.g., in government, advocacy, think tanks, or policy research)

This is a remote-first position and is only open to candidates eligible to work in the US. Proximity to Washington DC or New York City Metro Areas is preferred.
