Job Description
The Procurement Analyst specializes in conducting in-depth research and analysis of supply chain-related data to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. This role involves gathering and evaluating data from various sources, including supplier performance metrics, market trends, inventory levels, and financial indicators. The Procurement Analyst collaborates with the Supply Chain team to identify cost-saving opportunities, assess supplier capabilities, manage supply chain risks, and drive continuous improvement in the supply chain process.
Key Duties:
- Support Supply Chain teams with spend analytics, summarizing key trends, and ensuring accuracy of the data.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Develop dashboards, reports and escalations to drive proactive vendor management and negotiation strategies.
- Conduct market research to understand pricing trends, supplier capabilities, and market conditions.
- Assess the impact of external indicators (inclusive of indices, inflation, and other spend drivers) to determine cost containment and forecasting strategies.
- Assist with contract analysis and approval processes, creating financial models for strategic sourcing projects.
- Supporting the Supply Chain team in supplier relationship management and contract negotiations.
- Participating in cross-functional meetings to align Supply Chain strategies with organizational goals.
- Collaborating with finance teams to ensure supply chain activities align with budgetary constraints.
- Leading initiatives to streamline processes and enhance data analysis by evaluating and recommending improvements to Supply Chain strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Applying analytical knowledge and using considerable judgement to determine the approach to ambiguous challenges and provide recommendations for solutions to complex business problems.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills:
Required:
- 4 years of experience in Supply Chain, sourcing, transportation, material control, analytics or other related area.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- Organizational and administrative skills, able to multi-task and stay cool under pressure.
- Adept at “root cause analysis” with strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficient at translating complex datasets into actionable insights that can drive Supply Chain decisions.
- Demonstrated competence in change management techniques and challenging the status quo.
- Proficiency in essential computer programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Detailed working knowledge and understanding of analytics functions.
- Intermediate SQL skills.
- Demonstrated experience working with disparate data sources.
- Working experience with visualization techniques, dashboard design, and decision support tools; experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
- Analytic mindset and a proven history of continuous self-development.
- Ability to conduct research and to complete financial analyses with minimal support.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred:
- 3 years working with an ERP system.
- 2 years of leading cross functional teams or projects.
- Airline industry experience with a demonstrated track record of developing strong customer/supplier relationships and the ability to think systemically to make sound, timely business decisions.
- Familiarity with reading technical documentation/drawings and using enterprise class ERP systems (i.e., PeopleSoft and/or TRAX).
- Practical experience with the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process preferred.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Master of Arts or Master of Science degree.
